Christmas season on the island of Maui may not have snow but we sure know how to celebrate!
Last night, we enjoyed the "Moonlit Movies at Sugar Beach Events" in the town of Kihei on the south side of the island. They played our family favorite Christmas movie, Elf!
Kieran, Ronan and I got there early to secure our spot of the lawn. We brought our blankets and enjoyed listening to Christmas music while we waited for Jon to meet us after work. The family friendly event brought out young and old alike. We saw a few friends and enjoyed their company. Ronan wanted to
in the sand before dinner and the sunset was lovely. Kind of stormy in the distance but so pretty and calm. Sugar Beach Events is located on the beach and is stunning, especially at night with tiki torches burning. The movie and popcorn were complimentary and dinner and snacks were a small fee.
Chef Lee Anderson hosted the evening and catered the food with the movie in mind. Dinner options were either a tasty spaghetti plate or a waffle, bacon and eggs plate. We also picked out freshly baked cookies, the Christmas tree sugar cookies were Ronan’s favorite. You could also purchase unlimited coffee ("the world’s best cup of coffee?") and hot chocolate. The best part of the night was listening to Kieran and Ronan giggle during our favorite scenes. Oh Buddy. You make me laugh.
Mahalo Sugar Beach Events for hosting this free event for us to enjoy! There are two more showings of Elf this month. If you plan on going and have the required tickets (they are sold out), here is more information from Sugar Beach Events:
